What type of cloud application can be made?
Before getting into the types of cloud applications it is important to know what it is. Cloud computing is an internet based program where some or all the processing logic and data storage is processed in the cloud. As the user interacts with the application on the web browser or a mobile application, the data processed is managed by a combination of local devices and a cloud computing solution.
The types of cloud application are
-
Infrastructure as a service (IAAS)
It gives business access to vital web architecture such as storage, space, servers and connections without the need of purchasing and managing this infrastructure themselves. IAAS allows an internet business a way to develop and grow in demand. IAAS is a policy based service and is responsible for housing, operating and maintaining the equipment it provides for a client.
-
Platform as a Service (PAAS)
It provides a platform which allows customers to develop, run and manage applications without the complexity of building and maintaining the infrastructure typically associated with developing and launching an app.
-
Software as a service (SAAS)
It is a software distribution model in which a third party provider hosts application and makes them available to the customers over the internet. Gmail and salesforce are some of the examples of SaaS run as clouds but not all SaaS has to be based in cloud computing.
-
Functions as a service (FAAS)
FAAS is associated with on demand functionality that enables the supporting infrastructure to be powered down and not incurring charges when not in use. Lower costs at higher scalability can be achieved.
